Question 1

How much is my iPhone worth?

Accepted Answer

Your iPhone's value depends on several factors: the model, storage capacity, carrier lock status, and overall condition. Prices fluctuate based on market demand and new model releases, so the best way to find out what your specific device is worth right now is to use our instant quote tool at ricksistock.com. Our pricing updates every 10 minutes to reflect current market rates, so you're always seeing an accurate, real-time offer — not a stale estimate.

Question 2

How do I get an instant quote?

Accepted Answer

Getting a quote takes about 60 seconds. Visit ricksistock.com, select your iPhone model, storage size, carrier, and condition, and you'll see your offer immediately — no account required and no email sign-up necessary. The quote is generated in real time based on current resale market data. If you decide to accept the offer, you can move forward right from the same page.

Question 3

How does the inspection process work?

Accepted Answer

When your iPhone arrives at our facility, our team inspects it within 24 hours. We check the screen condition, body cosmetics, battery health, full device functionality (buttons, cameras, Face ID, speakers, charging port), and carrier lock status. Our goal is a thorough but fair assessment — we're not looking for reasons to reduce your payout, just making sure the device matches the condition described in your quote.

Question 4

What happens if my phone's condition doesn't match what I described?

Accepted Answer

If there's a discrepancy between the condition you selected and what our inspection finds, we'll contact you directly before making any changes to your offer. We'll explain exactly what we found and give you the option to accept a revised offer or have your device returned to you. There are no surprise deductions applied without your knowledge — that's a core part of how we operate.

Question 5

When will I get paid?

Accepted Answer

You'll receive payment within 24 hours of your device passing inspection — and in many cases, payment goes out the same day inspection is completed. We don't make you wait around. Once your iPhone is verified, funds are sent directly to your account via your chosen payment method.

Question 6

What payment methods do you accept?

Accepted Answer

We offer five payment options to make sure you get paid the way that works best for you: PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, and Apple Pay. All of these are fast, digital transfers — no waiting on a check in the mail. PayPal is our fastest option: it's the first payout we process after approval, and most PayPal sellers get paid within hours. One thing to know — PayPal may deduct its standard receiving fee (typically 2–3%) from the payment. That fee is charged by PayPal, not by us, and most sellers find the speed well worth it. Just let us know your preference when you complete your shipment details, and we'll send payment there.

Question 7

Is shipping really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes, completely free. When you accept an offer, we provide a prepaid USPS shipping label via email. You print it, attach it to your package, and drop it off at any USPS location — no out-of-pocket cost for shipping, at any point in the process. We cover the shipping both ways if a return is ever needed as well.

Question 8

Can I sell a broken or cracked iPhone?

Accepted Answer

Yes. We buy iPhones in a range of conditions, including devices with cracked screens or other cosmetic damage. The value will be lower than a device in better condition, but you can still get a meaningful payout rather than letting a broken phone collect dust. When getting your quote, select the condition that accurately describes your device and you'll see an offer that reflects that.

Question 9

Can I sell a phone I still owe money on (financed)?

Accepted Answer

No — we are only able to purchase iPhones that are fully paid off and not currently on a financing plan with a carrier. If your device is tied to a carrier installment plan, the carrier still technically has a claim on it. We recommend paying off the remaining balance first, then requesting a quote.

Question 10

Can I sell a carrier-locked iPhone?

Accepted Answer

Yes, we do accept carrier-locked iPhones. A locked phone will generally fetch a slightly lower price than an unlocked device because it limits which buyers can use it. When you get your quote, make sure to accurately select your carrier — the pricing tool accounts for this automatically and will show you the correct offer for your device's lock status.

Question 11

How do I find my iPhone model number?

Accepted Answer

The easiest way is to go to Settings → General → About on your iPhone, where you'll see the model name listed clearly (e.g., "iPhone 16 Pro Max"). Alternatively, you can find the model number engraved on the back of the device near the bottom, or look it up using your serial number at Apple's support site.

Question 12

How do I prepare my iPhone for sale?

Accepted Answer

Before shipping your iPhone, we recommend these steps: (1) Back up your data to iCloud or a computer. (2) Sign out of your Apple ID and disable Find My iPhone under Settings → [Your Name] → Sign Out. (3) Go to Settings → General → Transfer or Reset iPhone → Erase All Content and Settings to perform a factory reset. (4) Remove your SIM card. (5) Give the device a light cleaning.

Question 13

Is my personal data safe?

Accepted Answer

Your data safety is your responsibility before you ship — which is why we strongly recommend erasing your iPhone before sending it. Once a factory reset is completed, your personal information is removed from the device and Apple's activation lock is lifted. After your device arrives at our facility, it goes through our inspection process before being resold. We handle every device with care and do not access personal data on any phone we receive.

Question 14

Why do iPhone prices change?

Accepted Answer

iPhone resale values are driven by supply and demand in the secondary market. Key factors that shift prices include: new model announcements and releases, changes in carrier unlock availability, seasonal demand spikes (like holiday shopping or tax refund season), and overall inventory levels on platforms like Back Market. Our quote tool updates every 10 minutes to reflect these real-time market movements.

Question 15

What condition categories do you use?

Accepted Answer

We use four condition categories: Like New (no visible wear, perfect screen, full functionality), Good (minor cosmetic wear, fully functional), Fair (noticeable scratches or wear, fully functional), and Poor/Broken (cracked screen, significant cosmetic damage, or functional issues). When submitting your quote, choose the category that honestly describes your device.

Question 16

How does Rick's iStock compare to Apple Trade-In?

Accepted Answer

The biggest difference is payout form and flexibility. Apple Trade-In gives you store credit that can only be used toward Apple purchases — typically tied to buying a new device. Rick's iStock pays you real cash via PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, or Apple Pay, with no purchase required. Our pricing is also market-based and updates in real time, which often results in higher offers than Apple's fixed trade-in tables.

Question 17

Do you buy iPads or other Apple devices?

Accepted Answer

Currently, Rick's iStock specializes in iPhones only. We focus on iPhones because that's where we can offer the most competitive pricing and the fastest, most reliable process. We may expand to other device categories in the future.

Question 18

Can I sell multiple iPhones at once?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. If you have more than one iPhone to sell, you can submit separate quotes for each device. There's no limit on how many devices you can sell. If you're selling a larger batch (for a business, school, or family upgrade), feel free to contact us directly at support@ricksistock.com or (928) 492-5777.

Question 19

What if I change my mind after locking in an offer?

Accepted Answer

Life happens. If you've accepted an offer but haven't shipped your device yet, simply contact us and we'll cancel the transaction — no penalty, no hard feelings. If you've already shipped the phone and want it back, reach out to us as soon as possible at support@ricksistock.com or (928) 492-5777 and we'll do our best to accommodate your request.

Question 20

How long does the whole process take?

Accepted Answer

Most sellers complete the entire process — from getting a quote to receiving payment — within 3 to 5 business days. Getting a quote takes about 60 seconds. Shipping typically takes 2–3 days via USPS. Inspection happens within 24 hours of delivery. Payment is sent within 24 hours of a successful inspection.
